Finding Forums for People of Color in Prince William County, Virginia

The Coalition is a non-partisan alliance of organizations that believe in civic participation and having an informed, enthusiastic and engaged electorate. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) enforces the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination and intimidation of people in their homes, apartment buildings, and condo complexes, in nearly all housing transactions, including renting and selling homes and granting mortgage loans. Prince William County is home to a rich history that dates back to 1869 when Zeal Williams became the first African-American owner in the area. The Prince William 100-member Committee provides a non-partisan educational forum to study the essential interests, problems and objectives of the population of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

The Coalition has been serving Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park for more than 30 years, focusing on elections and issues of interest to local communities.
